Okay, it's a little carrier-centric, and I could do without the heavy Michael Jackson soundtrack, but this 4:46 video gets it mostly right.

Wal-Mart Earns Demerits

Wal-Mart is the largest employer in the United States. Yet, they have some of the most punitive and anti-labor worker rules in the country. Employees are issued "demerits" for calling in sick that lead to termination. This policy has their employees coming to work while ill and contagious, spreading sickness and flu among the general population.
It's a bad policy.
The Postal Press Association, in support of the National Labor Committee (NLC), has requested union employees click here and sign the petition. The NLC is trying to get 100,000 signatures to force Wal-Mart to change their policies toward their workers.
As of this writing, just over 40,000 signatures had been obtained.

Blog Administrator Wanted!

When I started this blog, I had the idea to rotate material in this manner:
Reprint Flint Facts articles (or parts of them).
Run Photos and Graphics, as they come up.
Tidbits of news from around the APWU.
Tidbits of news from other postal blogs (credited, of course).
Stuff from national APWU and state MPWU websites.
Occasional material from other PPA papers.
Something humorous periodically.
I will forward e-mails and other pertinent stuff I receive as Editor, if this is something someone out there is willing to do. Preferably someone attached to the Flint Michigan Area Local, of course. And, for what little it may be worth, I would add you to the Local roster in the pages of the Flint Facts.
Contact the Editor, if interested.

Flint Stations Safe!

U.S. Congressmen and longtime Flint Area Local supporter Dale Kildee has come to the rescue once again, intervening on behalf of Flint residents to save three stations - Northside, Downtown, and Mott Park - from closing during the Postal Service budget crunch.
The article, originally printed in The Flint Journal, can be found here.
