Revised 5-Day Delivery Plan

According to DMNews, the Postal Service has revised its plan to cut delivery from six days to five. After nearly 40 meetings with affected parties, the USPS has decided to implement the following, should Congress approve:

  • Cut mail delivery on Saturday.
  • Saturday mail processing would remain.
(Except for local originating mail. Locally-postmarked mail would not be processed until Monday.)
  • BMEUs would remain open on Saturday.
  • Express Mail would still be delivered seven days a week.
  • Priority Mail would not.
(USPS may explore the possibility of delivering Priority Mail on Saturday for an extra fee.)
  • Saturday post office hours would remain the same.
