For reasons of their own, President Debbie Lutz and Executive Vice-President Scott Mitchell tendered their resignations on Tuesday, May 25, 2010.
On Wednesday, May 26, the remaining members of the Flint Michigan Area Local Executive Board met in emergency session and appointed the following individuals to serve out the remainder of the term for these offices, per the Local's Constitution:
President: John Diem
Spring Meloy was appointed to fill the position of Clerk Craft Director, which John vacated.
Executive Vice-President: Curtis Walker
The office of Station/Associate Office Director, vacated by Spring Meloy, will remain vacant at this time. The duties of this office will be covered by Spring and by FMAL Secretary and MPWU Area 4 Director Laura Bullock.
The leadership of the Flint Michigan Area Local would like to assure the membership that their representation is still the focus and mission of this union, and ask that all questions and concerns be held for the General Membership Meeting on Saturday, June 12, at 1:00 p.m.
